There are a lot of opinions about bands using backing tracks.
Here’s ours.

Judging art based on whether the artist created it in a method that you deem acceptable is a limiting mindset that number one, misses the point of art in general and number two, really stifles invocation. 

 

For us, performing live only scratches part of the creative itch. Rearranging song structures, writing parts, and recording satisfies even more. When you hear Shut Up Mark live, you aren’t hearing downloaded or paid karaoke-type tracks. You’re hearing 100% us playing our versions of cover songs you’ll never hear anyone else do in that way.

 

We don’t just admit to creating backing tracks, we promote it.
